(HARBESON, Del.) - Santa built this shop outside Dragon's Lair, an adult toy store in Harbeson. People driving past honk and wave.
"There is no hidden agenda; this is genuinely done for the little people," said Jennifer Layfield, owner of Dragon's Lair.
Known for being 'more than a store with toys for big girls and boys', Dragon's Lair and Santa have invited families onto the property for the past two years to have a free visit with Saint Nick and give out free toys to kids.
"I wanted some place around here for the locals who didn't have those deep pockets who couldn't go that far," added Jennifer.
The location has some people taking to social media to question if it is appropriate.
Jennifer, the store owner, tells WRDE she does not understand why people are bothered.
"Straight up, this is for the little people. It's the time of year where you give back around here," she said.
Santa says he just wants to be there for the children.
Some Harbeson residents say they do not see a problem with the location.
"The people around here that live in Harbeson are used to it since it's been here for so many years," said Sydney, who works across the way.
One Harbeson grandmother brings 6 grandchildren to sit with Santa at the Harbeson location. She says she brought her grand kids for the past two years.
"We're here to see Santa Klause. Oh no, no, no. we don't have to go in the store. We're here to see Santa. I love it. I love it. I think it's great that Harbeson has its own little Santa now," said Patricia.
"You don't have to go to Dover, you don't have to go to Salisbury, and you don't have to spend any money. Come out, bring your smart phone, and see it for yourself. Seeing is believing," said Jennifer.
Jennifer says you can find Santa outside Dragon's Lair all the way up to Christmas Eve, waving and asking children what they want for Christmas.
